#gamedevhell IRC channel
I run an IRC channel called #gamedevhell (formerly #gamedev). It's a place for game developers of all levels of experience to chat and exchange game development help/advice.
If you know how to use IRC, you can find #gamedevhell on irc.synirc.net. If you're new to IRC, get yourself an IRC client (on Windows, I recommend mIRC).
History
#gamedevhell started life as #gamedev on the Vaponet network on 22nd July 2000. Since then, we moved to CTCPNet, StarChat, and then ZiRC. On 27th October 2007, when we moved from ZiRC to SynIRC, we discovered that there was already an established #gamedev there, so our channel was renamed #gamedevhell.
