Distributed real-time ray tracing

This is the web page for my third year undergraduate project, for which I have created an interactive, distributed (i.e. parallel) ray tracer. When the dissertation is finished it will be published here. In the meantime, have a look at the video below.

Can't play the video in Windows? Try installing the ffdshow DirectShow filter. It should then play in Windows Media Player.

Presentation

The project presentation and demo will take place in CS1.01 in the Department of Computer Science, University of Warwick, at 1pm on 10th March 2005.

Hello Paul,

So how did the demo go? Btw is the video likn above, indicative of the current version of your renderer? Any chance of an update on it? ie piccies or newer video clips, or even a demo download...

Ive been making my own realtime raytracer and realtime raytracers seem to be the flavour of the month at the moment. No doubt you've been keeping abreast of all the developments at OpenRT and the prototype hardware realtime rendering at www.saarcor.de

Will be keeping an eye on your site. Im also an avid fan of the original Elite also did a remake of it using opengl, but kept the graphics nice n simple. Ive got an old copy of it at 'http://members.fortunecity.co.uk/alekkenton/'. But I did get further with it than it seems, just life has gotten in the way :) Cheers.
